15th Annual Healthcare Conference

Health and Social Care Summer Conference

A Morning Conference, Tuesday 8th July 2014

One Birdcage Walk, Westminster, London SW1H 9JJ

LCS International in partnership with The Sunday Times take great pleasure in inviting you to join us on Tuesday 8th July 2014 at One Birdcage Walk, Westminster, SW1H 9JJ.

The event will bring together senior people in the private and public sectors and facilitate discussion between the NHS, Social Services and the independent and voluntary sectors on the significant challenges and opportunities in health and social care.

The theme of this year's event is 'Transformational Strategies in Health and Social Care'. The conference will debate the 2015-2020 agenda. It is held at a time of real impetus behind the integration of primary, secondary and community services, new partnerships between the NHS and the independent sector; NHS England's Simon Steven's views on the use of data and the role of patients and communities, and DoH's recent paper 'Transforming Primary Care'.

Participants include:

  • Lord Norman Warner, former Minister of State, DoH, author of 2014 Report 'Solving the NHS Care and Cash Crisis'
  • Rt. Hon Stephen Dorrell MP; Chair, House of Commons Health Committee
  • Sir John Oldham CBE; Chair of The Independent Commission on Whole Person Care that reported in February this year: 'One Person, One Team, One System'
  • Stephen Collier, CEO General Healthcare
  • Rob Webster, CEO NHS Confederation
  • Tom Wright, CEO Age UK
  • Sir Stephen Bubb, CEO ACEVO
  • Anita Charlesworth Senior Economist at The Health Foundation
  • Dr Arvind Madan, CEO, Hurley Group
  • Dr Matthew Patrick, CEO South London and Maudesley NHS Trust
  • Dr Nikki Kanani, Vice Chair SE London CCG
  • Ian Smith, Chair, Four Seasons Healthcare
  • Kingsley Manning, Chair, Health and Social Care Information Centre
  • Dr Tom Brett, Medical Director, Expert Health Ltd (DrThom.com and Lloyds Pharmacy online doctor)

We anticipate debate around:

  • A wider range of funding and delivery options for Health and Social Care after the next election - and its implications
  • Decision time for primary care and building more effective community based services
  • New models of integrated care with an enhanced role for local government
  • The impact of recent government legislation for persons with learning disabilities and mental illness
  • Innovative practices in Sweden, The Netherlands and the U.S. which have transformed community based care
  • Building better incentives into the system for innovation and IT development
