Dr Natalie-Jane Macdonald is Managing Director of BUPA Commissioning, which has been established to offer best quality best value commissioning support services to Primary Care Trusts, Strategic Health Authorities and other Commissioning bodies.
Natalie-Jane is a doctor with experience in hospital medicine and clinical pharmacology. She joined BUPA in 1995 and has led the organisation’s commissioning activity in the UK for BUPA’S 3.2 million UK members.
Previously head of ethics and international affairs at the British Medical Association, Natalie-Jane was responsible for developing policy in significant areas such as medical confidentiality and informed consent.
Natalie–Jane obtained her medical degree from Glasgow University, graduating with honours in 1984, and completed her higher training in general medicine working in both the NHS and academic medicine. She has an MBA from London Business School. She is a Trustee of WHICH? The UK’s Consumer Association and is also Chair of Healthcode, the UK clearing house for electronic transactions in the UK PMI industry.
